Wiki says that the 3 jewelers in Ak'Anon sell Fire Opals and they don't.

Fire Opals were drop only in classic if I remember right.

And they are not drop only. Go to temple of solusek ro and find Genni:

Genni says 'I will sell you a fire opal for 550 golden coins. Remember, gold! The metal of fire for a gem of fire.'
