You, sir, obviously have not been rooted or snared as a bard. It's simply gg after that. I'd sure as hell rather have an extra 20 sv magic than dex

I think Cast is trying to say that in the long term HP gear is more important than MR gear because in raid/group pvp situations you'll mostly be playing MR songs anyway (which give well over 100 MR with a drum at level 50). I guess it depends on your playstyle - in a solo pvp situation I'd much rather have the MR gear instead of spending half of my time twisting resist songs.

In the future, I'll have two sets of gear. For now, being poor bastard, I'll stick with MR. For any slots I can't get MR with (there are many), I'll get crucial stats

you have no idea what you're talking about, i have over 140 dex + agility unbuffed, who cares about MR wtf

and what is that gonna do for you at lvl 20? And how does this help you so significantly when swarm kiting?
