Please Read: GUARDS, Faction and GM Rezzes

Hi!!

In case you haven't noticed HERE all guards now assist. (except apparently some NFP ones)

Quote:

Rogean/Nilbog: City guards will now indiscriminately attack any players that they notice making offensive actions towards another player.
They also attack if you manastone or cannibalize or nuke yourself. I don't know about lich. I am not going to GM-rez for this anymore so spread the word amongst the uninformed.

There have also been massive faction changes:
Quote:

  • Nilbog: Freeport rogues are now on the correct faction.
  • Nilbog: Doran Vargnus is now primary faction StormGuard.
  • Nilbog: The band of adventurers in North Karana now have faction and pathing.
  • Nilbog: Slansin Denvin now primary faction CoalitionofTradefolkIll
  • Nilbog: Mangler provides faction hits when killed.
  • Sundawg: Base faction modifiers brought more inline with classic; work ongoing. Please beware as your travel, /con everything.
  • Sundawg: Equalized initial turn in experience and faction hits for all characters. No characters should start above amiable with their guild.

So your bind spot in the bank beside the guards MIGHT NOT be safe anymore.

Check your bind spot before you die and correct your issue. YOUR faction issue is not the fault of the staff. well....in this case it's all Sundawg's fault BUT you can imagine my great difficulty in determining who is scamming and who is honest.....

so moving forward i'm not rezzing for this either. Manage your faction :)

Also....

if the guard killed you the first time for cannibalizing or manastoning why in the hell did you do it again ?????????? Everyone who has petitioned this has two corpses. The first one i can accept as a mistake but the second one seems a lot like stupidity ;)

I strongly suggest everyone bind away from NPCs unless you are sure they will love you to death forever.

Iksar: There is only a very small handful of places in the original world that will tolerate you. In most places you are currently not being hated on enough, this will be "fixed" in an ongoing way. Do NOT bind your Iksar anywhere near other NPCs in the old world until faction work in the old world is done.

You, as an Iksar, may have "worked" on your faction to be non KOS up to this point, but the truth is you were repairing a faction deficit that was entirely too low. You may have more work to do after things are fixed, this is ongoing as I slowly work through the world's faction.

Everyone else: EQ is full of suprising faction results. For example: Ogre shaman will be killed at the troll shaman guildhall (or will be, when I fix it), and Troll Shadowknights will be killed by multiple factions in Oggok. I understand people have been use to faction being the way it was for awhile now, but we do want "more classic" faction, yes? There will be these bumps on this road to fixing them.

Bind somewhere away from questionable NPCs and /con things after each patch to see the adjustments.

Sorry Amelinda :(

What about self inflicted pain by falling damage?.. and /rude

Both should be added as "offensive actions."

Just being a smart ass.

fall damage is given by Pain and Suffering.

So current faction work won't be lost? But you may have to do some more work in order to get improve relations? No starting completely over though?

It must take a lot of restraint to not answer a petition where someone has died to guards twice via manastoning by porting to them and killing them a third time. =P
