Running EQ in OSX?
 

Is this possible? I play on a Mac, and have to run windows to play atm. But as we all know, Windows kinda sucks. Things run so hot in Windows my computer overheated playing EQ today :/

I have some basic technical knowledge.. lol.

Technically speaking it is possible. You can run it through wine, crossover, or automator. I've tried to do all three myself and got some serious help with it, and nobody could figure out why it wouldn't work. Still running on VMWare Fusion, but I'd like to get Windows off of my computer. If some how you get it to work post it back on her so I can get at it too please.

Also, why Audrey Tautou as your picture? I've been curious about it for quite some time now.

it's going to run best under boot camp. like the other poster said, your other option is is virtualization and if you're looking for better performance and cooler running then that's not going to help

It runs very smoothly for me under wine - precondition is that you use that on linux and have nvidia chipset on your graphics card. In that case I can give you a setup guide that involves modifying one line of code - actually it is described here rather well:

I've read some articles that fans on macs aren't handled properly by the OS. Download smc fan control to help with manually adjusting your fan speeds. Works both in OSX and in Windows just fine.

VMWare Fusion works perfectly for me.

Get rid of that stupid mac and buy a real computer . If your mac actually had a proper cooling system it would never over heat . BTW if you don't like windows learn linux / BSD since that's all OSX is a ripoff of .
