Ernax the Scholar not giving the Soul Trap Box
 

He just says "You must prove yourself to the Heretic cause before I reward you with such an item" when you give him back the letter for the Soul Trap Box. This was tested with Apprehensive and Amiable faction. I'm pretty sure Amiable faction for an erudite necro has to be sufficient since (according to the source below as well as others) he was not on the Heretics faction nor any faction you could actually raise (just the Tormented Soul, who's needed at the end of the quest I think, was on Heretics).

edit: Also, I'm curious how much faction is needed for the final turn-in to the Tormented Soul. Various sources say kindly while a few others say warmly. Everyone on this page says kindly: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/quest.html?quest=662

edit2: also the above link shows that killing erudite guards (at least the ones near the docks) should give a much better faction hit in favor of the heretics than it does currently on p99

Confirmed that the quest requires Kindly faction for the final turn in on p99 (which is accurate), however you should still be able to receive the book from Ernax at lower levels of faction.

I am working on this quest now as an erudite necro with amiable faction. I can not get the soul trap and i have been killing lots of the erudin guards and i haven't been able to raise my faction with heretics past amiable yet.

Over 150 guards killed close to 200 i stopped counting and still no increase from amiably. There must be an easier way the guards just simply don't give enough faction.

Pending update:

- Ermax handin doesn't have faction req.
- Erudin and Paineel guards have had positive faction hits increased substantially.
