One of the big points in pvp can be to kill the person that calls targets. It is a huge advantage to do so and disrupts the chain of command. Don't do this.

it is classic aint it i remember whenever i died (which was never so im not sure why i remember this..) you floated above for a sec and the DOOM music played for a couple secs, then you find yourself in rivervale bind point again and the jolly halfling music would commence

yeah i remember looking down at my newb corpse a number of times for a few seconds after gnolls got done kicking my ass over my shoulders.

I sorta remember the hovering thing was a part of the TZ server for a month or something. You could see people lootin your corpse. Then it just didn't happen anymore.

Did you play classic?

I do not remember this being classic, however I have not played classic since 2002.
