Getting surnames together?
 

Hey all, just wondering if it works the same with surnames here, whether you just wanted to share a surname with a friend, like I want to do.

Or when people get married in game.

Do you have to petition a GM to have the same one or can you both just take the same surname when you get to 20?

There are no restrictions on surnames with regard to someone else already using it as far as I know.

you get a surname without a GM's assistance at level 20 with the command /surname

the only time you need assistance is when you A) want to change your surname, B) would like to have ONE (1) apostrophe (`) in your name, or B) want a second capital letter where appropriate in a name like McLain or Lanys`Tyl

Then you would use the command /petition

All 3 of my chars on separate accounts have the same surname, so no restrictions
