Pet messages are zone-wide

At your service master, etc.

If someone is at BB ent and I'm at perma ent, i'll see pet messages.

I can't seem to find the "At your service, Master" either hardcoded or in the strings file, in order to find where it is sending it in code. (Tried searching both for "your service"). Is this something the client is doing itself maybe?

Pet messages are perl.

Quote:

if ($npc->GetOwnerID() && !$entity_list->GetMobID($npc->GetOwnerID())->IsNPC()) {
quest::say("At your service Master.");
I do believe 'say' range for all npcs and players is too far though!

Confirmed, i saw this to, was about to report it but big salty on the case, range for these pet messages seem zone wide

Yes I can confirm this.

Though not all of them. It seems to be the pet goes away or is summoned. Folow or attacking doesnt create that message.

I have also seen this with random npcs talking in high keep. Ill be sitting at the zone like and hear stuff from the quest givers near the bank.

I thought that I was being stalked by mages until I asked in /ooc and like a dozen people said they were experiencing this too.

This still appears to be a bug.

Can't call it a bug at this point, it's ... more of a feature

Temp fix, pending update.

I think this is also true for the Bixie messages.
