Spellbook and medding

I remember in 1999 when you sat to med the spell book opened blocking your view of anything else. This forced casters to find a safe place to med and does not feel authentic without it.
Thanks.

spellbook-view medding was only in place for the first few months of the game, and we are now in kunark.

OP, yes, it's classic, I miss it, and I love nerfing casters.

Spellbook medding wasn't removed until 2002. :P

I totally forgot about the level 35 requirement thing. I guess that's why I don't remember spell-book medding in Kunark because my main was about lvl 40 when it came out... and it took me until about 2002 to reach level 60.

omg, that would be so cool. And I play a caster.

Is it possible to do now with the client updates?

Since there is no more "classic" UI supported in the game, there would be no way for the client to shove a spellbook in your face and allow you to look at nothing else.

Sure, I suppose it could just use the current spellbook and open that up automatically. But with today's high resolution displays and the spellbook only taking up 1/8th of the screen, its not going to make much difference.
