Request to Update the Wiki
Hello -
I'm not sure if this is the correct spot to request this or not. So please move my thread to where is most appropriate. I found a few pages on the wiki that are broken and could use some updating. In particular: https://wiki.project1999.com/Eastern_Wastes is broken. It appears that Eastern Wastelands properly redirects and works though. Similar sort of thing for Velks: https://wiki.project1999.com/Velks is fine. But https://wiki.project1999.com/Velketor%27s_Labyrinth isn't. This is important because just clicking through the links to Adjacent Zones brings you to broken links. Thanks to `<Deus>` on Discord for figuring out the working links. I would like to make these changes and other ones I find on the wiki, but it appears I need a wiki account that only an administrator can give me. Is it possible to get one of those? Thanks! |
strange. all 4 links resolve for me, and clicking back n forth through the "Adjacent Zones:" links work. maybe wiki was just having traffic problems(which is fairly common these days) and not working when you tried
https://i.imgur.com/ZkOKjmG.png https://i.imgur.com/2n3DZyq.png and having an account doesn't seem to enable editing on the major pages, i have an account from back before they turned it off due to spammers and it wouldn't let me fix a minor typo on the necromancer page for a spell, think the whole site is on lockdown mode minus people's magelo's due to the like thousands of pages of ad spam they got hit with |
Weird, indeed! It's been happening to me all day and is still happening. Here's what the error page looks like:

I see the same as you @binjutsu

I think this was a temporary side effect of Rogean fixing the CloudFormation wiki/forum errors. It all seems fixed now.

Good catch. Those old zone pages break all the time. The redirect fixes are simple, they just need admin access to push them.

There's been a few other small errors/typos I've found that would be nice to fix when I see them instead of quickly forgetting where they are. Is it possible to get that kind of access? It just seems like the wiki is so important but also we're sort of letting it wither. |
I noticed a spike in errors when PQ launched but I'd hope they fork the wiki if they're still referring traffic or shell out for an upgrade. Spam wiki accounts are stupid but come from anybody hopefully we can sort it out or allow edits so the wiki performs as intended without much hassle

Where are you located (generally)? AWS does stuff by region, and it's possible the issue hasn't been fixed in whatever region you're in. |
this is the problem ive had with a lot of the install stuff too. lots of broken links and i was just thinking to myself maybe the community is dying - because none of the links work.
Also i just checked the links OP posted and the ones they say dont work dont work for me either. so its def not fixed as mentioned above. |
