Returning player, what should I do?

Hi Folks,

I just got set up with P99 on my new computer after some years away from the game. I played a little on blue with several characters in their 40s but really got invested when Green came out. I was really hoping by now there would be a fresh slate on the horizon but seeing as that's not the case and I have plenty of free time, I thought I'd give Green another whirl.

My problem is, I'm not really sure whether I should continue on my main character or start a new character. The population seems a little lower than before and I play on a Euro time zone.

My current main is a 60 Ranger, but I'm not sure what else I can really do on the character without a Euro time zone raiding guild. The character already has epic, eyepatch and cloak. All the clickies and must haves. It's just the armor pieces that are in dire need of upgrading. I also checked my character bank and I don't have much in the way of plat for twinking a new character.

Would I be best starting from scratch? Is there any Euro raiding guilds on green these days? Should I just wait for a new server?

Any insight would be wonderful. Thanks for reading!

lol step 1, don't take advice from anyone that doesn't actually play the game (basically anyone on the forums that references P99 red given it has an average player count of 3 but like 10 people that spam P99 red on every post)

Green is definitely a bit sparse during Euro hours and there is no true Euro guild on P99 as the server state is really just respond to high value targets that are up when they spawn 24/7.

Castle probably has the highest active user base around the clock, depending on your play schedule Kingdom seems to be the late night guild in the US which would mean more activity very early in the morning Euro time. GG tends to be the more active guild in the morning in the US which would translate to more afternoon into prime time activity in Euro time. These are the 3 largest raiding guilds.

The rest of the UN guilds include: Lineage Alliance, Safe Space, and Legacy of Fires all mid-sized, highly geared groups that have a mix of raiding and casual gameplay. If you're looking to armor your Ranger you're probably thinking things like Halls of Testing in which someone like Lineage alliance would be ideal as they spend the most time gearing toons from the ground up.

This is some great information on guilds, I appreciate it!

I'll have a chat with a few of them and figure out if any raiding is possible in my play windows.

Is there still an active grouping and levelling community on Green or is it mostly high end and solo like Blue? If I start from scratch it will determine what class I will choose.

do a SSF enchanter

Enchanter aside, SSF actually might be a cool challenge idea if guilding is not an option. Wasn't there a SSF guild on Blue back in the day? SSF SK or Paladin could be a fun option.

Green today is probably identical to what you recall of blue. Mostly high end/solo. What grouping occurs tends to follow a designated path such as newbie zone > unrest/oasis > mistmoor/guk > CoM. 50+ seems to be kinda split up I see sporadic groups in WL Geos, Velks, Sebilis, and Chardok.

There is also always one random leveling guild that invites everyone, I haven't rolled a new toon in awhile so I'm not sure of the prevalent one right now but they tend to spam invites in newbie zones so you'll probably encounter whoever it is if you roll fresh. There was a small SSF guild that popped up on Green months ago, not sure if their still kickin or not.

Auld Lang Syne used to be a thing on blue.

SSF anything but enchanter / mage / bard / necro is going to be the longest slog you can possibly imagine.

I think I've decided to do both, I'll try to find a guild to do quakes/raids with on my Ranger while doing a little SSF alt on downtime. Thanks for the info guys! Time to go reach out to some in-game peeps.
