Hi,

i'm the new guy from Germany :-)

I've never played Everquest 1 or 2 back in the day... since when EQ came out we had 56k modems and payed by hour and since i was 14 when the game came out i definitly hadn't the money for this. It was interesting though since i already had the base box of "The Dark eye" (biggest German Pen and Paper roleplaying system) but no players to play it so the idea of having this online was awesome.

Flash forward one month ago I saw a youtube video about weird / good Pen and Paper systems based on Videogames and they introduced Everquest 1 (based on DnD3) which was interesting... long story short: found Players handbook and GM Book on ebay, will get the other books as well xD and now i wanna try this game for the first time.

Welcome! We don't often get folks that have never experienced EQ before but the cool thing is this project is the closest thing to what EQ was like back when it was released in '99-2001, although admittedly the player base is much smaller so the experience starting out new isn't as vibrant and interactive (still much more than modern games).

The depth of this world is pretty wild. I've been playing P99 a few years now, and played during this era on live a few decades ago and still continue to encounter new things within the game.

p99 was my first eq experience as well
