A clean man who realizes the cost of materials is more than $16!

Plus you ever tried to rotate your tires yourself?

I've changed oil myself, and it used to be cheaper to do it yourself, since the economy has turned, you can go to a jiffy lube and get it done with or without synthetic for the same price as doing it yourself, and if you time it right, it'll be done faster because you don't have to worry about dealing with the plastic bucket full of oil sludge that has to be recycled.

honestly, they can charge cheaper rates because they expect less from their employees.

our friends, not us thankfully, have had issues with jiffy lube and wal-mart and quality of service. one friend had them not fully tighten the oil filter, and it flew off down the street a ways. another friend took his vw tdi (diesel) to jiffy lube, wrong oil and they couldn't find the filter for it so the put the old one back in.

imho if you care about your car, do it yourself or pay a friend with alcohol who enjoys working on cars to do it.
