Class xp penalties

Does anyone else wish that the class xp penalties were done away with? I know its technically part of the 'classic' thing, but -40% for playing a bard is pretty brutal. And god help you if you want to play a troll SK.

Race xp penalties I can understand, but not class.

it hurts, it hurts deep

It sucks but you can solo :X

Shirodan 03-16-2010 06:20 AM

I understand the solo argument, but nobody should be penalized for playing a class they enjoy. Most classes will want to group regardless of how well they solo anyways.

Blame Verant & 989. Bastards.

can we get a "beat the dead horse" pic, please.

PearlJammzz 03-16-2010 11:41 AM

It's how it is intended. You get special things with your classes, and these are the penalties put in place to counteract that a little. Just grind more. Groups are everywhere, and the XP flows in a good group. Have fun, and enjoy more areas than the people who level faster :).

Not gonna be changed. Sorry. Discuss at your leisure if it makes you feel better.

I see it this way. They were implemented for a reason.

I think the game designers thought they made hybrids way more powerful than they actually did.

Actually, prior to classic, paladins and shadowknights have some significant advantages in tanking over equally geared warriors... so maybe they were on to something.

However, come Kunark, these things become much more balanced.

Can't understand why they'd do that to poor rangers though :(. Rangers didn't really get fixed until SoL as I recall.
