Problem running p99 on m1 Mac through VMWare Fusion Windows 11 ARM VM

Hey fellow EverQuesters!

So I'm having a problem running p99 on my m1 MacBook. Now before everyone starts pulling up on me for even daring such a fit, I want to say that this is my secondary computer and I want to run p99 on it for two reasons; a. portability and b. because my windows pc is dying.
Now before I start with the problem I'm facing, I want to say that I had great success running the game through Windows 11 VM on parallels on my MacBook in the past. The reason I'm not using that anymore is because I can't justify 120$/y just to be able to carry p99 around with me.
I tried running the game through Wine (Whisky skin) and although surprisingly it DOES run, the performance is extremely poor, let alone it fries my poor MacBook.

So I turned to VMWare Fusion for a free alternative and although I installed Windows 11 ARM and the game alright, I can't log in to any of p99 servers. I can still use my credentials to log in to EQEmu server list and I even managed to log in and play on project Lazarus but when I try to log in to any of p99 servers I'm getting the error message shown in the image.
Now, I tried all manner of tweaks to bypass that error but nothing seems to be fixing it. I tried changing the VM desktop resolution, tried to changing compatibility modes of the eqclient.exe but I'm still getting the same error no matter what.
Anyone has some idea / managed to make the game work through VMWare Fusion on an 'm' series Mac?

I forgot to mention that I'm running the game under WinEQ 2.15 on both the Windows VM and on Wisky. Trying to run the Launch Titanium.bat file isn't doing anything at all.

PS
I also installed a Linux Debian 12 VM and tried to follow the instructions on the wiki on how to run p99 on Linux through Wine but I couldn't make that work and to be honest I highly doubt it's even possible. Still I wouldn't mind running the game through Linux if someone managed that and is willing to share the information!

Did you ever resolve this? I am getting the same error.

Here for the answer, too. Using Parallels 20(?) and Windows 11 I get this same error when I hit the character select screen. EQ Live and THJ worked fine.

Hey guys, yes! I have found something that worked for me and I'm playing p99 on my m1 MacBook through VMWare Fusion Windows 11 VM!!
First of all I want to clear out that I'm using the WinEQ 2 application to run the game as this is fixing a lot of problems and I highly recommend you use it too.
With that being said, what you need to do is locate the application file WinEQ2 on its install directory, then right click and go to: Properties -> Compatibility -> Change emulation settings and from the dropdown menu choose "Safe emulation". After that just run the game normally via WinEQ.
This is what worked for me and I hope it does for you guys too!
