Crazy or Not So Crazy Idea
We only need 4 servers.
First dump Red. We need the hardware. Not enough peeps play on there to raid anything pre-Velious. Unless I am unlucky when ever I log on, there are only on average 30 players. Server 1 will stay Green for those players that do not want to start over. Merge Red and Blue to Green. Server 2 will start fresh from the beginning. And never progresses to Kunark. Locked. Everyone will start here that wants to start over. Server 3 will launch later with Kunark following the original progression timeline. When Kunark opens, those on Server 2 that want their character to move forwards, will do a server transfer to 3. Those characters can never go back to Server 2. Server 3 never progresses forwards. Locked in Kunark. Server 4 will launch later with Velious following the original progression timeline. When Velious opens, those on Server 2 and 3 that want their character to move forwards, will do a server transfer to 4. Those characters can never go back to Server 2 or 3. Server 4 obviously stays locked in Velious. This allows those guilds and peeps that always want to start over, to always be able to start all over. And everyone gets to decide which era they want to always play in. |
It would be a cool idea if there were more players.
With the two existing servers the populations are already smaller than I would like. Four servers would only have like 300 players each if the existing population split evenly. If it didn't, at least one server would probably be dead. |

Those peeps that keep wanting to wipe the servers and start a fresh one know wiping Green or Blue is unpopular. They want to force everyone to play in their sandbox to keep a large population, by deleting everyone else's sandbox, leaving them only one choice if they want to play the game. |
how about no - any further dilution is a terrible idea
wipe red clean, fix bowquest / resists, let the degenerate druggies have a fresh no CSR shitbox to duke it out on...would bring a ton of players from the rest of the back channel boxes back merge green and blue, fix the retarded raid rules / meta, make raiding competition great again without a zerg (1 hour FTE lockouts, no rooted dragons, no bag limits, recharges, and Sirken-era suspensions for fuckery...the elves need a bit of iron fisting) then sometime later down the line go with that Green 2.0 you all crave so much |

Just merge green into blue when luclin launches, reset, and let us all fricken enjoy classic EQ for gods sake we got people roleplaying the server reset with hardcore guilds for like the 8th time.
How is this a difficult decision? I don't get it. Alternatively the love nilbog seemed to have for discord on the boards, and the lack of a discord server, makes me want to just sit on the floor and cry. |

there is so much about p99 that isn't remotely close to being classic im just saying, from a population standpoint...merge 'em and fix these asinine raid rules to bring back some competition i just threw red in there because those are the two biggest complaints about red (ignoring lack of pop)...bow dmg and resists or just unplug red forever and dont worry about it, approximately 5 people would care |
Merge Green and Blue and rename it Teal. The arguments against are raid mob competition and the broken economy.. A better populated server is worth that cost. I guess the actual problem is that devs either enjoy the servers as they are or can't be arsed (understandable).
Launch 1) Red 2.0 OR 2) Green 2.0 Cycle these servers into Teal or Red 1.0 respectively once Sleeper is awakened or 12 months after Velious is released. ... Barring this, just release Legacy items on the original release cycle and never bother with fresh servers again. |
P99 has been slain by lady secrets. It's double exp week for their one year anniversary. Join now or wait for the next server in 10 years
