Could this be for real? Could you actually play the game without speaking even very basic english? Or did he just pwn me with this ingenious deception?! We had lots of japanese back on Mith Marr who didn't speak a word, but they had a fairly large community of their own...

there was an entire guild on the old VZTZ that was all spanish speaking peoples, only a couple a very few knew a very slight amount of english.

You can play for sure without knowing much english. For instance I've got a friend that played EQ without just the basic english.
