SQL error when linking EQEmulator forum account to Project 1999 forum account
Hi there!
I was doing an audit of my account passwords to limit the chances my identity will be stolen and reached a point where my Project 1999 login server account was next. I've been a member since there were separate Project 1999 and EQEmulator forum accounts (2015 to be exact), so I learned that I had to merge the two to manage my password through my Project 1999 account. I followed Default Project 1999 Guidebook (https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=2651), clicked the Account Setup / Play Guide link (https://www.project1999.com/account/?Play), proceeded to the EQEmulator Account Link page (https://www.project1999.com/account/?Link), filled out the EQEmulator forum username and e-mail address, and clicked the Continue button. (I'd insert an image here, but I don't think I've posted often enough in these forums to be granted that privilege. I threw together a blog post to circumvent this restraint; please see Figure 1 in https://gamingkitten.blogspot.com/20...qemulator.html) Immediately after clicking the Continue button, I encountered the "PDOException: SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'p99link'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /var/www/vhosts/project1999.com/httpdocs/account/Services/account_functions.php on line 50" error. I'm pretty sure there's nothing I can do to fix this error since it's (database) server-side likely dealing with database user privileges. I didn't find any SQL-related issues reporting in this particular section of the P99 forums within the past year nor any announcements related to this, so I don't think I'm creating a redundancy by creating a new thread for this. I found I could change my login server password through my EQEmulator account, so I'm good, but I'm thinking others might be affected or will be. If this has already been addressed, if there's any more information or troubleshooting I can do to help, please let me know! |
Hi! Same issue here. :(
|
Thank you for chiming in; it lends credence that it's a server issue. I tried linking the two forum accounts again, and the issue's still occurring. Is this the sort of thing Rogean would have to resolve? What other information can I provide to help? Any actions I can take to help?

It looks like a database issue, so whoever is managing it would probably have to intervene. This might happen because an EQEmulator account isn't required anymore?
If you're reading this and are in the same spot, rest assured that you can still log into Project 1999 with your EQEmulator account. Even without the link. :) |
Have you tried posting in the petition forum?
|
I haven't yet, but I'll give it a shot. Thank you!
EDIT: I just posted a petition for it. |
