Twink a Paladin...

If you had 20kpp to spend, how would you twink a Paladin? Curious cuz theres not a lot of paladin gear for sale these days...

Diamondine Earring x2 (low priority, they're a bit overpriced for what they actually do - get forest loops or something if budget gets thin)
Glowing Bone Collar
Whatever mask, maybe that +5str sarnak one
Deepwater Helm

Platinum Fire Wedding Ring x2
Deepwater Bracer x2
Deepwater Vambraces
Deepwater Gauntlets

Crested Spaulders or Adamantite Epaulets
Hooded Black Cloak
Enameled Black Chestplate or Breastplate of Ro
Thick Banded Belt, or try to camp or buy loot rights for Hangman's Noose
Leggings of Ro
Deepwater Boots

Arbitor's Combine Greatsword
----------- or -----------
Sword of the Morning & Clay Guardian Shield

Loot a free Totem of Warrior Spirit from someone camping Graztnsiasdf in WW

I think that's what you'd get out of 20k. Might even be stretching it. Don't try to buy an FBSS or SBS on that budget. Not even sure you could get a SotM, no idea what it costs. A Wurmslayer would be alright if you want to use a shield. The AC pieces are by far the most important, and Deepwater should be dirt cheap, people often vendor it. AC > HP > anything else. The Kunark set pieces are hugely worthwhile considering you should be able to get most pieces for under 1k each and they give 16-21 AC. The above set will pretty much maximize the AC you can get in Kunark, save for a few pieces like chest/legs, and you'll make an insane tank for low/mid-level groups. Try to replace your earrings with Sarnak Earring of Station x2 while leveling through your 20s.

Since a lot of people vendor Deepwater gear instead of trading it, try sending tells to people grinding in the zones where the above pieces drop. /who all karnor etc. and periodically ask folks if they have some DW they wanna sell for more than vendor price. It might be hard to find in EC. Also check the shady swashbuckler and vendors near the Freeport bank.

If you make anything other than a dwarf, consider buying an evil-eye bag and a light burlap sack. Don't buy jboots MQ, you can camp it at level 35 or with main. It's a good idea to get a Ghoulbane for soloing in Unrest when you can't find groups.

It's not a terrible idea to go for some wisdom if you focus on it where reasonable. If you use arbitor's, forest loops, warrior totem and adamantite epaulets, it adds up to a decent amount and allows you an extra two or three heals that can occasionally make a difference. It also costs more mana for a paladin to hold aggro than it does for an SK, so you'll be able to tank chain-pulled mobs for longer before needing to med. With the gear available on your budget, you wouldn't really be sacrificing much.

Another cheap weapon is Baton of faith. Mithril bp is also a good choice for @450p

Mithril bp has terrible AC. Enameled is a lot better and costs like 50p.

Sotm can be found for like 3k(if you're lucky)-5k, and it's such an awesome weapon i'd highly recommend it. Baton of Faith is very cheap and very effective 20+.

Up to 20, I'd recommend using a Nathsar greatsword because of the damage cap.

Tattered mantle is also a good alternative to crested spaulders since Sta has less of an effect at a lower level, and has an additional AC point and disease resist.

Sword of Skyfire is a nice cheap twink sword.

Honestly though, I've got a pally twinked with about 30k worth of crap plus some event items even and he is just boring to play.

I'd do dark mail gaunts, ssb, sebilite scale legs over some of the other list. Also I'd get a ghoulbane at level 20 and kill in undead zones.

I could dump 100k into certain classes and still not enjoy them, while on the other hand I could have 100p and absolutely love other ones. It all just depends on preference. Everybody has their own ideas of what they enjoy.

i dumped ~80k into a ranger pre kunark, absolute borefest.

conversely, twinked a shaman on 5k pre kunark - incredibly OP.
