PORTING QUESTION - AVOIDING DANGER

Ported a group into WL and found Wuoshi standing in the ring pwning people. I got feared but managed to gate out with 10% health. I put invis on but as soon as I cast port invis drops - Wuoshi can probably see me anyway but how is this done safely?

Also, porting into SF I have been attacked as soon as I pop through. How can a porting class stay safe and avoid being attacked while porting in with no invis.

• for Wuoshi, you can kill Velious giants (or merely tag giants others are killing) enough to reach Dubious faction. If you get far enough into the game, you’ll need to do this a lot anyway to complete some of the best quests in the game.
• If Wuoshi is up, it will be killed soon. It is one of the lowest priority raid targets in Norrath. I’d estimate maximum 6 hours before the ravenous raid guilds sweep through.
• Harmony works on Wuoshi, but someone has to go cast it before you arrive. Maybe Dial-A-Port should dispatch someone to recast Harmony every 2 minutes when it quakes, and pay them on a half-hour basis.
• for Skyfire, nothing in Skyfire sees invis*. You can have another member of your group invis you. You just make sure invis lands after you’ve begun your cast. Invisibility spells have a 5-second casting time. *: except Talendor, but he dies within a few hours of each earthquake or respawn.
• Skyfire - usually there isn’t anything close enough, so you can just run up the wall after landing. And once you gain more levels, you won’t get aggro from so far away.

Wuoshi status is part of the message of the day for Dial a Port guild members. You can probably shoot one of them a tell and find out. I'm not sure how frequently the MOTD gets updated though so making sure you are positive faction with claws of veeshan is the surefire way.

In my DAP role I used to post with my advert if that damn dragon was alive or not :)

those are really the only two spots

if you always have SoW on, SF isn't an issue can just run to BW zl

wuoshi is more problematic but he doesn't stay up for long...i can count on 1 hand the number of times ive ported into WL to find the dragon up

not really anything to worry too much over

Why do that? Make sure you aren't KOS, take money up front for ports to WL and let them deal with the consequences!

Just kidding, obviously.

Wuoshi.. to be 100% safe for yourself, you need CoV faction. Skyfire is a reason to own jboots on a druid, just for the occasional times you get dispelled by chromas there.

EJ is another that should be looked out for, if youre high enough level theres not much worry. But I have ported some lower level people in there before and they got jumped by skellies usually. Sometimes a gorilla.

Those soulsipper mosquitos path through there as well, heck of a way to land.

I think the wizard port in is worse though for both EJ and SF.

Yeah that part of the gmotd is more of a hazard than anything. It doesn't get updated frequently at all, especially since there are quakes and natural respawns. It just causes problems.

If the motd says she's up when she's not, people don't get ported to WL who should. If it says she's down when she's not, people die.

Safest bet is /who all wakening and just ask somebody in the zone if she's up
