Missing Item: Spider Silk Mask
 
It's unclear whether the item was retroactively taken out of the game, as claimed by one commenter, or if the named crag spider that dropped it was removed instead. Regardless, however brief, it seems likely that both did exist in classic. More information needed pertaining to when exactly it was removed and whether the item remained in the world after the fact.

I have found a item in one of the databeses i have searched called Spider Silk Mask. Which is a very neet item for a monk.(its monk only =) The only thing that was missing is where to get it or how. I was wondering if any one saw, heard, or know how or where? If you do i would love to find out. Please reply!

If I remember correctly it dropped on a rare spawn in west karanas, but was removed long long ago.

Why in the heck would Verant do that? Was it too easy to get?

I mean 4ac +4 strength +4 dex is my dream, it means I can wear it full time over a grotesque mask and dented brass masks...and the sv poison just rocks for PvP....

I think we should petition for its return

If it was only in game that briefly and removed completely I'm not sure it's worth implementing.

Unsure whether there are previous or later examples in the classic timeline of any items being removed from the game though, other than this one as the commenter alleges. Items bugged and requiring a replacement, made to no longer drop, or nerfed? Yes, but not removed outright. In any case, more information is needed.

We can add things like this, but I'd need more details. Any more information about the npc? Was it removed when the mask was? What did the npc look like; anything special with abilities etc? What was the icon image of the mask? Any identify lore information on it?

For the mask, my initial thought would be to have it persist as a normal item until the time when it should be removed. At that time, it could change to a nodrop/norent version with no stats.
