refreshing buffs on the mark when old wears off

Concerns necro lvl 20 lich spell "Allure of Death":

The old one is about to wear off, I just casted a refresh and had this symptomatic:

PHP Code:

You begin casting Allure of Death.
You feel your health begin to drain away.
You feel better

(this last one came like instantly, and is the worn off message)

After that, the effect was not on me.

My suspicion is that the sequence of events got mixed up here: First, the new spell got applied, and then the old one wore off, clearing the effect. Since this doesn't happen regularly, my suspicion is it only happens if the re-cast of a buff (or only this spell?) lands within the same tic (or a few seconds) of when the spell should wear off.

From what I remember that is "classic".

this happens with yaulp too. or used to often; I dunno about nowadays. I began to take care to not cast near the end of the duration. If I fizzled or some crap I'd wait until it wore.

classic or not? idk.

Not only is it a bug from classic but it is alive and well on Al'kabor. (Live Mac server that stops at PoP)

oookay... if you guys say so, I'll take your word for it :) It's not a big deal. However one might think about whether it's worth going to the hassle of reproducing such details.

Thanks for the responses!

I doubt they sat down and worked to reproduce the bug. My guess is it was there already. The devs didn't build the game and client from scratch, and a lot of it works exactly like it did in Live, being the same code. This includes bugs, and this one is classic.
