Vira, mage focus items
 

Vira in Temple of Solusek Ro
I gave her a torch, fire giant toe, fire drake scale, and fire emerald (which are the 4 correct items for the Torch of Alna)
She gave them back
I gave them again, she gave them back

I gave her a broom, cyclops toes, griffon feather, and star ruby (the 4 items for the Broom of Trilon).
She gave them back. Except now instead of giving me the feather back, she gave me Fire Giant Toes
I had a spare feather so I tried again. Again, she gave the items back, but now instead of a star ruby, she gave another fire giant toe.

I relogged. All the items were back in my inventory the way they were supposed to be (instead of being fire giant toes).

I have the faction for this, I have already done the Shovel quest with her.

Cast identify on the broom/torch and make sure they're the correct one for the quest.

As I understand it, there are multiple 'a broom' or 'a torch' items, but not all of them are appropriate for the quest.

Yea, it's the right items.

That would also require overlooking how the items morphed when she gave them back and then normalized when I camped out.
