With the last patch on the horizon (presumably next week), can you please let us know what the plan is for Green server? I know the original plan was to merge with Blue but I have a strong suspicion that has changed.

Will Green merge with Blue? If so, how will duplicate names and number of max number of character slots be addressed?
Will Green be renamed to something else, like Teal where future Green servers will be recycled into?

It would be nice to know the plan so the player base knows what to expect. Even if the Green recycle is months out, I have to imagine there is a solidified plan that just hasn't been announced yet?

They said around the time of green launch that they have no ability to host more than the amount of char slots on any account. Unless they’ve figured out some way since then and haven’t told us but idk why they wouldn’t have told people that type of update.

If you saw that and still used the same one account beyond a total of the amount of char slots then that was a bit dopey

My guess would be this is a really hard question for the staff and they're weighing the pros and cons of any conceivable plan. There's really nothing they can do that won't piss a chunk of people off, which is no doubt the nature of managing any eq server.

I still think if anyone is playing on green only out of some expectation of what it's future will be, and if that expectation isn't true they wouldn't even be playing here, is missing the point of the whole project.

I mean green is currently sitting at 1k+ pop online, and it was so popular when it launched they had to split it temporarily. Something is working there.

Why are people so obsessed with when green will merge to blue if it ever does? Just make a character on blue or green and play the game.

Leveling a char to max lvl in this game is a MASSIVE time investment. I think it's completely reasonable for people to ask questions about the plans for the future of whichever server they choose to play on. No?

For example I'd be pretty annoyed if I rolled fresh on green right now and got to lvl 40+ and they go "Surprise we're merging servers and starting a fresh green!". If I had known beforehand I probably would have just waited and started fresh on green 2.0 instead of wasting all that time on a green char that just gets dumped to blue before I even hit max lvl. That's unfortunately kind of the position I'm in now. I'd like to get back into P99 but the uncertainty of the future is kind of holding me back from making a decision.

Merge Blue into Green and not vice versa, because if I lose my Fire Pot bind im going be REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Green will merge into blue and they will start a new fresh green so y'all can do that all over again. I will continue to work on getting bis on my warrior on blue /nod :)

Have fun on new fresh green and looking forward to all the fake dark elfs on blue when the merge happens :p

I wouldn't necessarily be that annoyed. Starting fresh on Green right now isn't really like starting fresh. The server is top heavy and becoming mudflated just like Blue. But yeah if I were to start a brand new char right now I would start it on Blue because that's where everything will be eventually anyway, but can't go wrong with green either I guess because the experience is essentially the same on both servers.
