Naming Policy for toonns

If for some reason the name I choose is deemed to violate Naming Policy will they rename it automatically to something else or will they request me to suggest a new name. I do not think the name I currently have in game is bad but might be a tad sketchy.
I see they said you cant request a name change so I just wait to have it seen and then they will change it or is it a perma-kill type deal?

The GMs will contact you if it is determined your name needs to change. I created a bard named Onlyfans and was contacted as soon as I hit the server, so they have flags and alerts in place. If you haven't been contacted you may be good, but I've also seen folks be forced to change names after months with no issues.

There are tons of people running around with stupid and idiotic names that violate the naming policy. Tragically, the policy is not really enforced. Your name has to be extraordinarily stupid for them to make you change it.

Case in point: Just look at all the inane names the guy above gets away with.

It's like speeding.

Any non-immersive name runs the risk of getting changed. for example any druid that has a name that integrates "port" runs the risk of getting blasted, or "holy" in a cleric/paladin stuff like that

Back in 2018 few hundred active names got changed, was pandemonium!!!

For a few brief days this server actually felt more like a live server, and it was glorious.

And then the powers that be stepped in and said "we like horribly unclassic names on our classic EQ server", and it all stopped. :(

Getting randomly namechanged was a big risk in live when your name was fringe as far as policy adhesion goes.

I like names getting nerfed, and guild names that are stupid should not be approved.
