VQuest Reforged - EverQuest conversion for Warcraft 3
 

Hi guys,

Many (many) years ago, I did a Warcraft 3 mod called VQuest. I didn't necessarily set out to make it a 'total conversion' of EverQuest or anything like that, but as time went by, how I felt about EQ just seemed to inspire it, more and more.

Fast foward a few years and what with the release of Reforged and all that, I thought I'd pick it up again.

Not long ago, I streamed a video having a go, and figured I'd create a thread with a link in the event anyone here might enjoy playing it.

Most will probably hate it - EverQuest isn't for everyone, after all, and I'm far from the best modder there ever was - but if you have a watch, let me know what you think.

Wait until you see me load up my higher-level group and go into Befallen.

It's not perfect (and some would probably consider it not even good), but as I say in the video, it scratches the itch for me.

That's the kind of feedback I can get behind.

All you need is Warcraft Reforged and a love of EverQuest of old.

Back when Warcraft 3 (and by assocation, VQuest) was a lot more popular, you could only control one hero at a time and you had to play with others to really get anywhere. With this version, however, someone playing three heroes at the same time that gel well together, like a tank, healer and dps, could easily level to max.

I do say in the video that there may be some bugs, and that my favourite classes may not necessarily be the same as yours. As a consequence, I could definitely be accused of having put more effort, over the years, into the classes I'm more fond of.

I don't mind working a little to correct that, though.

Thanks, though I didn't expect to hear that. I think it's that classic thing where I really don't care for the sound of my own voice.

I really enjoyed it though, definitely going to do another.

The more I watch this video the more I start freaking out.
