Happy to be Casual

With all the drama with current raid scene, I'm pretty happy to be casual. Thank you to those who keep this server going!

Me too man haha. Me too...

Raiding in EQ overall is a non-worthwhile experience. A lot of work for pixels that for several classes don't enable you to do anything you couldn't without 'em.

strongNpretty 02-08-2021 04:09 PM

Slippery slope once you start raiding..

Honestly, I hate raiding. It ruins everything that makes EQ fun. Regardless of the unique frustrations with P99 end game raiding. Its easier than most everything in EQ. There is 0 fear of death. Mobility is readily available. TONS of wasted time sitting on your thumbs. Its just better pixels.

Think back on your most fond memories of either live or early P99, were any of them raiding?

word. I rate this post 9.5 out of 10!

I'm pretty casual right now as I'm a chronic reroller. I have a hard time getting a character to above 25. Just have a hard time pinpointing exactly what I want to be as a main in the long run.

I really would like to see a raid one of these days though. It's still a dream to one day fight Innoruuk as 15 year old me thought he was the best villain ever.

I'm happy that you're happy.

I am also enjoying the server and my first p99 experience. I’ve been enjoying it so much so that I’m thinking about donating a few bucks to the cool people and GM’s who are running the show and making the experience possible (edit: just donated)

I do agree that it sounds like the enjoyment factor continues to go down the higher level you get, so being a chronic alt-maker does indeed sound like a benefit here

It's more a case of know who you are, know what you like, and make the conscious effort to stick to the parts of the game you enjoy. A lot of folks only gradually get drawn into activities they dislike, gradually enough it evokes a comparison to the frog in boiling water metaphor.
