Capitalism breeds innovation

Workers riot at Wistron iPhone plant in India over shorted pay

Quote:

Sources told the report the unrest was caused through the workers not receiving the full pay they were told they would be receiving at the time of joining the company. One staff member alleged an engineering graduate was promised Rs 21,000 ($285) per month, but instead had Rs 16,000 ($217) at first, which then reduced down to Rs 12,000 ($163) in the last three months.

Other employees allegedly had it worse, with one non-engineering graduate's salary cut down to Rs 8,000 ($108), and some claiming to have been paid as little as Rs 500 ($6.78). The bad sentiment grew throughout the shift, erupting in violence by the early hours of the morning.

And in any case, the alternatives certainly don't. See: all of world history

We should do what Venezuela does. We will all lose weight while we are at it.

Never attribute to capitalism what should be attributed to culture.

Innovation would come from the West whether we were fully automated luxury gay space communism or 22 y/o young college Republican virgin who just read The Fountainhead for the first time anarcho-libertarianism.

Valuation of educational attainment, work ethic, ambition, social cohesion, civic duty, respect for the rule of law; it all comes from the set of behaviors, beliefs, and cognitions that are passed down through families and communities & amplified and modulated by national zeitgeist and a host of other factors. American ingenuity comes from our unique blend of individualism and Protestant ethic. Plus, you would have to be quite ignorant to even truly consider us capitalist (or Venezuela socialist, lol)-- corporations and oligarchs have always pulled the levers of our government and economy to minimize competition (just as they do in any mixed market system, but that's another discussion). This is also why unchecked immigration and multiculturalism without assimilation are so harmful, as the Dutch, Swedes, French, British, Belgians, Germans, and others have found.

The only true resource any country ever really has are its people.

R.I.P. Crystal Pepsi and Jolt Cola.

People are no longer civil or civically minded. You will not see real innovation for another 100 years from American Corporations as the RnD money and science is going outside of the country. And off world.

Expect more weird porn and a spiral of copywrite, trademark warfare, and lawyer questing as the country falls.

Individuals and small collectives will try to splinter away and form their own communities and farming agriculturals around strange cults in very select cases, but these will not be popularized on the news. And most will be raided by big Weed.
