This guy is breaking (Broke?) the world reccord for MMO playthrough, with 40 hours!

I say that number is nothing compared to wahtever some of you list masters have done.

I guess currently the world reccord for online mmo playthrough is with p99.. but shouldnt it be more like 400 hours??

I want to see this keep going and going and going forever!

Speed running MMOGs seems like an incredibly stupid idea to me, just in general.

When you speed run Pac-Man or Mario or whatever, it's all you: no one else plays with you. This lets you compare speed runs on an "apples to apples" level.

But in a MMOG by definition thousands of other people are involved, and that makes my speed run vs. your speed run a total apples to oranges case. What's the point?

This is a longest sit down and play an MMO consecutive hours. The opposite of a sprint, a marathon.

I mean, we all find meaning in life in our own way ... but at the same time, it's hard to deny that winning a fair race is more meaningful than winning a game of Chutes and Ladders.

Again, it's all subjective, and you can argue whether winning a fair race is meaningful ... just like you can argue whether speedrunning is meaningful ... but regardless, it seems clear that speedrunning a MMOG is meaningless (or at least borderline so).
