MONKS: Robe of the lost circle now requires skill check on final combine

I just failed my ROTLC combine. :(:(

I didn't see the patch message on 11/6/2020, but it was in there I guess. It now requires a tailoring skill check.

I do not know what level. but I can say that skill of 10 gets "lack the skill" message. And you get no return of any of the components; they are all consumed.

I did petition but got a "working as intended" response with a link to the patch notes where it shows the message.

I don't recall it ever requiring a skill check not even on Live, and there still isn't one on Live today, so I am not sure why they would put that in on P99. Does anyone ever recall ROTLC having had a skill check?

So, this page from May of 2004 that describes the quest says in the last line of text that the tailoring skill check was removed:

So, presumably it was removed at some point before that guide was written. Nailing down exactly when is eluding me at the moment, but if the devs removed it here then they obviously found data indicating that during the server's intended era it had a skill check.

huh weird I did this quest about 3 times and all at zero tailoring

Well after further review and discussion, (which I appreciate they would even consider) they confirmed that their policy is to never reimburse a failed combine. So no luck for me. Be careful future monks with your combines.

So, I just crafted this robe successfully with 36 tailoring, but I DID NOT get the "You can no longer advance your skills from making this item" message.

^^^ this thread suggests the trivial would be 27, so maybe the message was incorrect for me, but future crafters take care.

Now that we are in Kunark, most people will get their robes easily from the two monks wearing them.

Every monk on green who got a RotLC pre-kunark did so from killing a brother, Targin wasn't spawning until the most recent patch so the quest version was impossible to complete.

Any other reports on trivial rates for this combine currently?

With all the items ready and Tailoring at 64 I'm now hesitant to hit combine.

Would hate to have to gather the items for combine again and probably wouldn't.

Combine was successful and also got a trivial message with 64 tailoring skill.

This means the trivial level for tailoring Robe combine is between 36 and 64 with given data so far.
