Shaman pets are incorrectly gaining triple attack

That's dual wield + double attack roll

DMN 09-14-2020 03:12 AM

If it was dual wield you'd see them quading every so often. I've never seen that happened.Additionally they aren't supposed to dual wield in the first place.

Dolalin 09-14-2020 03:25 AM

Their skill isn't high enough to double-attack in the offhand, that's the simple answer. You need offhand double-attack to get quads.

Below that skill level you will occasionally see dual-wield plus primary-hand double attack, so triples. That's what this is.

in either case it's incorrect.

Why is it incorrect? Shaman pets are warriors, they get double attack and dual wield. Having both of those skills, a triple is always possible no matter your level.

Because they cant equip a weapon. Only a monk can dual wield without a weapon.

Pets of a high enough level dual wield without needing weapons. I'd wager a guk shaman's pet is high enough for that.

Pets that inherently can equip weapons are the only ones that should be getting automatic dual wield.

Dolalin 09-14-2020 05:40 AM

Well it looks like you might be onto something. What I'm seeing so far from the newsgroups is that Shaman pets didn't dual wield.

: Our 49 pet is five levels lower than the necro's 49 pet, and only
: hits for seven less max damage. Level is a major part of it, but
: damage matters too.

Yes it does. The necro pet dual wields. The shaman pet does not
so the damage margin is a bit wider than 7 points.

Because the level 55 Shaman pet *is* a level 44 Necro pet.

Without Dual Wield.

They don't. Dogs don't dual wield :(

Necro pets get dual wield at 29. I'm not sure when magician pets
get it. Shaman pets don't get it at all.

All pets get double attack.
