Is it too late to start a Green character?

One of my main drivers is to snag a Moss covered twig which I was never able to get in classic.

If its not too late, what would be the best class to go hunting for it?

What's the point? The twig gets retro-nerfed a couple months after it starts dropping.

Kunark is out in under 4 months I believe. Can you get to the appropriate level to camp that item in 4 months? Probably.

Moss covered twig is heavily nerfed and pointless on this server ( all eq emu servers )

Get an https://wiki.project1999.com/Efreeti_Standard - it's also 3/10 but doesn't get nerfed. Probably the best pushing weapon, I think.

Other than the Efreeti standard, is there anything else I should be trying to get on green as I level before it stops dropping?

It's not too late to join up and play though, there's still groups though it's not as packed in the low and mid levels like it was 8 months ago. You can level in time to enjoy classic raids before Kunark drops and trivialises them. Or you can wait a few months and roll an Iksar if you want to experience that launch rush.

you can get to lv 50 no problem
kunark is november I got to lv 40 in just about a month and a half of casual playing

Heavily nerfed on p99 and eq emu , again sorry if you missed how fun those were on live there is a maximum attack speed now on all these servers

Relax buddy. Play if you want to play the game. Playing because of one specific thing is just setting yourself up for a world of hurt. You're gonna find out the golden egg isn't all that golden and then whoops look at all that playtime down the drain.
