85 Cha on a Necro.

So anecdotally like out of 100 ish "Numb the Dead" casts I have gotten like 8 crit resists that pulled agro, on blue & green mobs. The rest all became very ambivalent and where sweet enough to let me convert their friends into new life energy right before their very undead senses.

That's pretty impressive. i wonder if they altered the formula for charisma on lulls for necros. When I was playing on blue I got crit lulls almost half the time on mine.

I am really eager to try adding more CHA to see what happens. I have enjoyed using it to split so far, I haven't 'needed' it on any of the splits I wind up being able to kill both if I get a crit resist, but it is nice for pacing the spawns.

It was so unreliable on blue i would immediately clear GCD and start casting feign death afterwards, if I ever even dared use it.

Then it seems I am having great luck with it )

interesting i didnt know that would make the diff for that spell because dont you need less CHA for your fear?

Raev reported high resist rates for his necromancer's lulls back in 2013.

And here is another thread discussing the effect of charisma on necromancers. Notable excerpts:
"[Rumors of charisma affecting fear] is all false. Charisma has zero effect on anything a Necromancer does."
"The cha does affect undead lull. You'll get a crit resist far more often with low cha, instead of a normal resist. There are only a few pulls that this really matters for a necro, since you can just FD every resist. I personally will try to get my cha up on any pull where I don't have a line of sight option to FD a crit resist."
"CHA absolutely affects necro unead lull. Try to lull as a necro in Howling Stones with low CHA, you'll crit resist like 70% of the time. Good necros carry some cha gear around to use in a pinch when breaking rooms."

Necromancer/SK charisma affecting fear is an old myth. See Necro +CHA / -CHA.

Charisma also doesn't help necros, druids, or shamans with their charm spells. It helps bards with charm, but their charm only lasts 18 seconds anyway. See Necro vs Enchanter Charm.

Great to know, level seems to help a lot too. I have been having more success with it lately, so rangesus definitely place a big part, but super glad I have the CHA.

FD is nice, but I don't want to FD and kill my pet and stuff :D

From playing a cleric, anecdotally the lull line gets pretty good around 120+ cha.

Oh lol, no wonder it started working better, I just got two loam encrusted bracers and that put me at 91 charisma lol.

magnetaress 03-11-2020 11:02 AM

94 :D I got a lizardman mystic doll lol.

My goal is 225 CHA on this character.
