Thanksgiving EXP bonus

Where that bonus at?

Imagine 6 Troll SKs in a group, they would actually lose EXP while killing mobs if they did not have a Thanksgiving Holiday bonus... think of the trolls!

Boy I hope not.

I dont think it can ever actually go negative, but yes, the exp penalty compounds. So, mob gives 100 exp, but there is a hybrid, so that's -40% group splits 60 exp (after other racial and class mods are applied also.) If there are two hybrids, that 60 exp gets docked another 40%, resulting in 36 exp remaining to be split. A third hybrid, another 40%, 21.6 exp remains to be split, and so on, and so on.

This, at least, is my understanding of how the exp penalties work. I could be wrong, so ya.

Basically, its rough out there for them hybrid homies.

The xp from the kill is not reduced, hybrids just need more xp per level. You get reduced xp because hybrids claim a larger share of the groups earnings since they have a larger xp pool, but its not as if everyone in the group is getting 40% less xp just because there is a hybrid.

I thought class penalties were removed? Are they still in game? (sorry, I'm a noob here still)

They are currently active on teal and green.

Yes, respectfully, the math above is not correct.

Let’s imagine a 5-person group of all priests (no exp bonus or penalty) of equal level kills a mob that grants 1000 exp.
M1 Druid: 20% of the 1000 exp = 200 exp
M2 Druid: 20% of the 1000 exp = 200 exp
M3 Druid: 20% of the 1000 exp = 200 exp
M4 Druid: 20% of the 1000 exp = 200 exp
M5 Druid: 20% of the 1000 exp = 200 exp

Now let’s replace one druid with a Human shadowknight. He requires 40% more exp to level up. From each kill, he should get 40% more exp than the druids take. However, they’re still sharing the same exp pie. This means he takes a little bit from the others.
M1 Human SK: 25.9% = 259 exp
M2 Druid: 18.5% = 185 exp
M3 Druid: 18.5% = 185 exp
M4 Druid: 18.5% = 185 exp
M5 Druid: 18.5% = 185 exp
You’ll notice 185 * 140% = 259.
And the SK’s exp bar appears to go up by the same amount the druids’ exp bars go up.
