Is there much point to being a dark elf with guise in game?
 

Guise is not that difficult to get and is available until May. So any good race that wants to will have access to evil cities and quests. They will also have access to ultravision from the guise, and DE fashion ofc.

This leaves just the racial hide and nothing to write home about stats of the dark elf. When considering all this, do you think there is much of a reason to play a dark elf at all when you can play any other race and just be a dark elf whenever you want anyways?

Dark Elf SK's get a ring that lets them bind anywhere, including the Firepot room when Kunark drops :) Racial hide matters if you're a class with charm.

I think most big races want a guise for the sake of having a shrink that makes them smaller / skinnier.

Do you like dark elves and Neriak? Then play a dark elf.

Min/maxing is fun, but I like the challenge of lesser seen combos. Always nice to see an erudite paladin making his way through the game...for example.

Even with a guise, you'll know you arent a real darkie.

Dark elves hide is great for wizards, which makes them a power combo.

Dark elves also are with high elves top tier enchanter and they have no need for a guise.

yes, being a dark elf with a DE mask, later in the game, when they don't drop, and u guys say hold up for 30 seconds need to illusion, and u stop the grp, to click ur mask, only to turn into another darkelf, is absolutely required if your going to stunt on people.

plus extra junk buff slot.

Also you can stream yourself destroying the Guise for internet fame.

i would be funny if you were a dark elf and use the guise it just changed your face... or your sex haha
