How important is Sneak for a Druid? Halfling? Wood Elf?

When it comes to Druids, it seems like Wood Elf or Halfing are usually considered the best because they can use their "Hide" skill to break their charmed pets.

Stat wise Halfling seems to come out a bit ahead with 5-10 in a couple of the physical stats, and the 5% extra exp also. But it seems like the main difference between the two races is that Halflings get Sneak, and Wood Elves don't.

So I was wondering, just how important or useful is Sneak on a Druid? Would some of you Druids consider it a must have skill? Do some of you Halflings not even bother with using it?

Halflings are karana and miss out on some special tunare items, and humans also get some extra robe equipment.

While hide is indeed pretty nice to have, sneak really is much less. Druids already have nice invisibility spells that are much more usefull.

There is one thing where having sneak maybe nice. That's quest turnins.

So i would say if you like wood elves more, go do a wood elf. From a power play perspective i think halflings are better, but only a little bit.

Halflings have a lot of advantages but you need to play as a halfling.

Not just quest turn ins, but also if you ruin factions you can still vendor as well at a lot of places. There are also tings that see invis but not sneak.

Such as? (Not necessarily doubting you, have just heard different and wondered if there were hard evidence one way or the other.)

He's quite right, and in fact, nearly all mobs cannot see through Sneak (if you're behind them). There are very few exceptions. From the wiki page on Sneak:
Quote:

Some mobs (very rare) can see through sneak. You can recognize these mobs because when you are sneaking and con them, it will say 'You have a feeling that this creature can see you'. Beware of these mobs. Examples include: Royal Guard (Crushbone), A ghoul assassin (Lower Guk), A Chokidai Mangler - Note: While some examples are marked, many are not.

Only reason to be a Wood Elf Druid is Gloves of Earthcrafting.
