I don’t know for sure, but I suspect the answer will turn out to be no. I quadded wyverns in Cobalt Scar from 47ish to 55 on Blue and they drop a limited set of certain words/pages, including Words of Haunting (the only one I can remember for sure). According to other threads, it is believed that certain words drop in certain zones.

I've killed hundreds of Chanda and Baobob Millers the last few levels and not seen a single page/rune. And hundreds of the lower-level McMannus barbarians in WK before that with no drops. So at least some mobs don't drop research components at all.

But before that I got dozens of drops in a few levels doinf aviak guards in lake rathe.

Definetly not, my experience also hint toward certain pages/words on certain area.

We did 5 hour in paw with not a single component of any class.
