How exorbitant are prices when you get into the 80 - 100 range?

How much does it cost to take a skill from 1 to 100?

What are you trying to train? No one uses training points that high it gets expensive and for many more valuable things like tradeskills you can't use points after a certain level, and its not a very high cap.

It’s usually not worth it to spend all the skill points at trainers because it’s usually just easier to raise them naturally after you put one point into skills that require a point to unlock. It’s way cheaper too.

It’s definitely better to wait until higher levels to put a point into trade skills, as you’ll get more points for a single skill point at higher levels, if I recall. I want to say you can get 21 points in a single trade skill if you wait until level 21 or higher to put a point in a trade skill. I maxed every skill, including languages, on blue on my bard, and honestly the only annoying one to raise that I would have put more points into if I could was beg. It took me about 27 hours to max beg while begging the barrel barge boat and passively watching Netflix.

I think the only time I used skill points was on my monk to raise tedious skills like men’s and FD to a level they were actually somewhat reliable (around 60 or so) after that I just raised the skills naturally. I think tanks might use them on weapon skills if they find an upgrade. Usually just plop enough points in them to catch them up to your other weapon skills. Just leveling a skill at the trainer to 100 is not advised unless it’s a skill that’s on a long CD (like mend or forage)

Research has a level restricted cap you can't get around it with training points.
