Does anyone have a link for Classic EQ blacksmithing? Is it worth doing?

But as for is it worth doing ... not really on Blue. On Green, maybe if you really go all in and make "being a blacksmith" your thing ... but otherwise probably not.

Tradeskills in general in this era of EQ are not especially powerful. But being able to make banded in Green certainly won't be worthless either :) It will just cost a lot of time/money you could spend in dungeons getting better loot.

JC will be awesome. HP/AC rings are very good for just about every class.

Green is probably the best time to do it, but I'd only bother getting skill to around 100.

That way you can brute force out a suit of banded for yourself / alts / friends. If you make more than one set of banded you've probably already saved money compared to straight out buying them.

That said, there are people who will do banded very cheaply on green when it comes out.

So basically, do it if you fancy a vanity project.

You can't buy fire opals until sol ro temple 6 months after release. Good luck getting the few that drop from raids to make and sell to the public.

There will be thousands of players playing. A decent amount will drop.

Will a human cleric with 110 wisdom be adequate to make banded?

It shouldn't be that bad. I've done it recently with a couple different characters starting from nothing. It's probably going to take you around 100-150pp to get your skill up enough and to make the full set of banded. In that time you will still have the money needed for spells and maybe even to spend about 18-20pp on leather armor if you want. I'd expect to be able to make a full set by the time you are level 10-15 if you are just playing the game normally and leveling with everyone else.
