Best/Most efficient Trio Combination?

Hey guys,

My friends and I are getting together this summer to play some Everquest. We came up with a list of combinations and I want y'alls feedback:

Necro/Shaman/Monk

Necro/Necro/Shaman

Cleric/Warrior/Enchanter

Necro/Shaman/Wizard

Paladin/Monk/Cleric

Bard/Cleric/Wizard

We basically are looking for the best all-around group that won't have a lot of downtime and that can take advantage of indoor zone bonus exp etc. if you have any other combos, post them up!

Chanter/Cleric/Monk

My favorite out of those choices would be Warrior, Cleric, Enchanter. I'll throw out a new trio that I think would do well (Druid, Enchanter, Necro)

The most efficient trio would obviously involve at least 2 pet classes. No warriors or other melees - that's just crazy talk. One of the 3 also has to be an enchanter (I count them as a pet class) because enchanters are just wtfawesome. Since mages get kind of mediocre in Kunark, I'd pick a necromancer for the other pet class. For the third, I'd suggest a shaman or a druid, since both can heal and have decent nukes, while the Shaman has a pet and the Druid can port, which make them both very appealing.

Necro/Necro/Shaman would be easy mode. Would be even better Necro/Mage/Shaman.

Would the necro's dots stack?

Pfft, Wizard/Wizard/Wizard!!!

But seriously. if you want to go melee, Cleric/Warrior/Bard. If you want to go caster, Mage/Necro/Enchanter. If you want a mix, Necro/Shaman/Monk.

This can go so many ways. Ultimately it comes down to certain things... do you like to fight in tough spots? Do you want ports? Do you prefer pet classes? Do you want to trio and be the best classes for endgame raiding? Will you always be casual players? etc etc...

But really, what's fun for the 3 of you to play? If someone wants to be a backstabbing rogue but they roll a more utility-centric druid or wizard then will they enjoy the game as much? Or will the quit around level 40 like so many others?...

Yep. One of the handy differences between p1999 and live from back in the day. At least they do with the few dots I have personally tested.

I loved the druid/mage/ench this time around, never much downtime, and a druid shouldn't have too much trouble keeping a mage and ench alive, theoretically you could mez/chaincast pets pretty easily. But if your goal is to take down Harder targets, you can replace the druid with a necro, or even a cleric.
