Giving level 12 fire pet a Weighted Axe.

It's me again..I made a necro and got it to level 12. i summoned my pet and gave it Earthen Axe..It was doubling for 52 at level 12 ( thats right..lvl 12). Wonder what his dmg would be if i gave him this? my friend is going to farm these for me, so ill find out soon enough ;) oh ya and btw, thanks to that fag that trained me right after my pet killed something wiff his beautifal axe and dmg../sigh. retarded trainers!

So, what I'm asking is was there a damage cap on pets removed from Kunark -> 2002 if anyone knows? Or is this a bug currently in game? I do recall it being used as an awesome way to self PL pet classes, but I don't recall when exactly it was.

Pets using the damage from a 2h ... absolutely. This was like that well into PoP at least. I think it was in PoP that I leveled my first mage, and was awesome having a level 3 pet, hitting for 50+, using some junk weapon from velious. I am pretty sure the delay was unaffected, not positive. But the pet would hit for up to double the weapon damage.

Is it classic? Well, I think live is still like that. So is that classic? Not so much, it was just how it was, and is on live still.

Am I going to change it? I am not in a hurry to make pets tougher.

On live pets wouldnt wield a weapon with more than 50 delay. Things like Executioners Axe were legit on level 1 pets b/c they'd hit 50. But anything like Lamentation Blade (25/54) wouldnt be wielded. fyi.

Well Guineapig, the only reason that this change is reasonable to expect changed if it is classic - which from reading the threads/responses it is. I personally am not really concerned either way, as I agree with what you said about leveling pet classes is already pretty damn easy lol... but I can see why people are posting about it if it is in fact something that was classic up until 2004+ or whenever.
