Made a new plat guide
 

Hi, I write guides at MMORPGTips and wrote a plat guide for classic eq / p1999. Any feedback or tips is much appreciated!

Looks like everything in Loramin's guide

55+ Cheif RokGus in Temple of Droga – Drops Idol of the Thorned worth 2000p

F this camp - consumed 3 hrs of my life doing it for nada and it's heavily camped so dont think you will waltz down there and pop a few PHs and walk off with a 2k plat item.

Chief RokGus is much less attractive as a platinum camp now that Idol and Gauntlets of Potence have dropped in value and CoS has been nerfed. The problem is that Chief is a rare spawn and the Idol is a rare drop. I'd estimate that it takes about 8 hours on average to get an Idol, so without the additional chance of a pre-nerf CoS or Gauntlets when they were more valuable, it ends up being a pretty inefficient camp at this point in the timeline.

I'd add Tarn Visilin as a Highkeep vendor anyone can sell to. I don't know who the other lady is or where she is... but ole Tarn is near the bank and is in a room that's a good spot to med/rest up <3

Also I'd flesh out the page a bit more.

One exaple... Hadden indeed might drop a fishbone earring, but he's an 8 hour repop, is "unlikely" to drop it most of the time and is best farmed by leaving an extra character there camped to kill him each time he reappears ^^

I think you're both right, because my Treasure Hunting "Guide" is really more of a collection of ideas, whereas this was closer to an actual guide. All the opening stuff is definitely not in the Treasure Hunting Guide, and while most of the rest of the guide is a complete steal from the Treasure Hunting Guide (and it even links to it at the bottom) ... the Treasure Hunting Guide "stole" it's ideas from other guides and forum posts (there only a few truly original suggestions of my own), so turnabout is fair play.

Ultimately I think more guides is good for everyone, I just feel like ... like the second half of this guide is a whole lot of duplication of effort. But still more guides = good.

P.S. Obviously the whole thing belongs on the wiki tthough, as way more people could find it there.

This guide is pretty bad IMO. The end just looks like a list of zones and their level ranges moreso than a plat farming guide. Seems like it was thrown together in 30 minutes by google searching random p99 forum threads and copy pasting from the wiki.
