P99 on a Tablet?

Anyone know of any Tablets with a keyboard that can run P99? Looking in the $100-$200 range. Want something for work, where I sometimes sit in a car for long periods of time.

Or maybe a small laptop in the same price range?

Just read about this:

I have no idea if it can handle EQ, but it can run Linux, which can run WINE, which can run EQ, so in theory it'd be possible. In practice you'll probably want something a little more beefy though.

Refurb laptops from Micro Center/New Egg/etc run for 200-250 and run the game just fine!

Would this run it do you think?

Laptop

No, I don't believe so, because ChromeOS can't (to my knowledge) run WINE.

Ideally you want a Windows machine, but at that price you're unlikely to find one. So your next best bet is a Linux machine, because at least those can run EQ using a program called WINE (I'm using it right now to play EQ, without issue). I think the newest Chromebooks can run either, but the older ones can only run ChromeOS.

What if it is a tablet with a keyboard that has Windows 10?

Something like this

That looks much more promising. Not only does it have Windows, it also has a quad-core Intel processor with a built-in graphics card, which should help a lot. You'll still probably see lag if your anti-virus starts scanning or if you try to do anything else in the background, but if you just play EQ I'd imagine it'd be reasonably performant.

Caveat: I take no responsibility if EQ on that computer doesn't run well, or at all, or makes your computer/tablet explode. I'm just offering my best guess based on the specs.

I run p99 on a Thinkpad X220 (circa 2011) that I got off ebay with no problems if that's helpful.

For science I tried to get p99 running on an old chromebook I had laying around (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It works - performance isn't great but it's playable. I'm running a full blown Linux distro on it however - not ChromeOS.

EQ can run on almost anything =D.
