question for the programmers

i always wonder if charisma really changed anything for enchanter or does charm work with resist magic.

some poeple says charisma all the way other debate that resist magic chek (tash) is what really make the spell hold on.

from a dev , what is really going on coding wise on that 1 ?

Unless it has changed you can easily see how it works by examining the EQ Emu source code.

In the EQ emulator source code charisma is worthless (like live).

In Project 1999 the code is different (I asked Haynar) and charisma matters a great deal up to at least 200.

The stock code is surely altered for P99, but yeah charisma has a huge noticeable effect on charm. Heard it affects mezzes too, but I haven't played an enchanterm uch here.

Also this is in the wrong forum.

It even matters up to 250 now. From my recent experience in Kunark 250 charisma gives a noticeable increase in duration over 200 but even then the charm almost never lasts full duration on mobs in Chardok. Adding malo after tash however does substantially increase the duration. If anything, I would say that magic resistance is a much bigger factor now than charisma.

I did not try lowering my charisma below the 200 range once we were maloing mobs though, so take this info with a grain of salt and test it out for yourself.

It's also worth noting that the mobs I was charming were only a couple of levels below me at most (was level 51 at the time using Allure).
