I get disconnected everytime I try to leave starting character screen

Are you making a class/race combination that is not in the classic/kunark/velious era?

The Titanium client will display a lot of options that are not available here such as Halfling Rangers, Gnome Shadowknights among many others

The Character Races wiki page shows all the available Classes for each Race
