Door/Lift in Paineel
 

I figured I'd post here just to complain since I'm sure its not a bug as I remember it being a huge pain pre-Kunark. But I hate the fuckin lift and door exiting the underground city of Paineel. The fact the the guards are camped all the time while your a lowbie and need a key is bad enough. I actually had to make a toon today to show a guy how to use it. I showed him how to get the key but neglected to mention the piece of shit lift exiting Paineel. /sigh I feel better now.

You have to click on it more than a few times, brah...3 successful "ticks" (meaning if you spam clicks, it only actually registers on the EQ object once per certain amount of time) of the lift will *always* make it move. Same thing with Kelethin.

Every single time.

And yeah, it does suck that people kill both exiting guards. I personally always leave at least one of those guys around for the newbies and always offer to give lift rides if someone has killed both. Sucks to not be able to leave your friggin city because some guy wants an extra 8pp every 26 minutes.

Yeah, I figured out the 3 clicks thing day one. And once you get it, it really isn't that bad. But for a guy that never tried a Erudite necro/sk in vanilla it's confusing as hell. Just strange they chose such a dumb way to get out, realized it was broken and kept it anyway. Finally made it to twelve so I hope to not have to go back for a while. On that note, anyone know where a Erudite Necromancer can get spells other than Paineel? I tried Neriak but got killed pretty much right after the ghouls.

It's a little touchy for sure, I think everyone starting in paineel did the same thing, clicking the shit out of the stone and not looking up to see if the lift was coming down as we click again and send it back to the top.
