Help with Gwan in plane of Sky
 

Hey everyone, longtime lurker here but have been playing for almost 2 years now. I mainly play enchanter but rolled a monk alt not long ago. Just earlier today I got the celestial fists book section knocked out finally and all I need is the demon fang fights!! I figured it might be more time consuming to do all the fights in one shot, but if there are people willing to help out with Gwan in sky at least that would be awesome and much appreciated!

I have a couple friends who will be helping already, a 55 Warrior and 56 cleric. I’m guessing we mainly just need a wizard to port, more melee dps and not sure if we need CC. (Another thing is I have never been to sky before so not sure if I can easily bring my chanter to play and then easily switch over to monk to loot)

So if there is anyone willing to help tonight we are aiming for roughly 7:00-7:30pm PST.( I’m on, but waiting for the cleric and warrior.) I will of course reimburse for whatever the reagent cost is to port people up to sky and whatever other costs are involved. I will be on either my enchanter “Thischarm” or my monk “Doomfeather” shortly if anyone wants to message me in game. Thank you in advance anyone who is able to offer a hand here!

The keys are 550pp each to 1.5. Alternatively, you could try to go when a guild is doing their weekly sky run and loot some extra 1.5 keys and maybe even enlist their help. Azure Guard will be in sky tomorrow and afaik no one needs Gwan. Try to message someone from Azure Guard in game to be directed to an officer to ask, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind you tagging along.

Make sure you check the Sky Rotation page and contact officers from the guild slotted for the time you are planning on going up. Gwan is on a two hour respawn so there shouldn't be too much problem just killing him, but killing the boss of the first island to get keys to 1.5 can seriously harm the scheduled guild's ability to do Sky. As Maliant said, buying a Key of Swords for every attending player might be a necessity if you go up earlier than the time slotted guild is planning on going.

It's a relatively easy fight, you just need to be wary of Gwan's knockback proc which can and will send you off the island or through the door of the light house if you aren't positioned properly. 55+ tank, cleric, and some dps is all you need; no more than one group is required if your players are up to snuff, and it gets expensive to port and key unnecessary numbers. I've seen 60 monk/cleric duos kill him with ease, although they were well geared.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, thanks nothsa I will look you up as well =) I think I will check with a guild next weekend whoever is doing sky. Was not aware the sky keys were so pricey!

Have not had luck with anyone doing sky yet. I do have the plat now to at least key a full group up and pay for the port. So I will have my monk (now 47) and then one buddy confirmed. (level 55 warrior or he can play the cleric) If my other buddy shows up then we will have cleric and warrior so I suppose we just need 2 DPS or a dps and tank. Going to try to do this around 7:30pm PST, maybe earlier if people are already on. Nothsa, I will hit you up if you are available to tank then my buddy can just cleric it up =)

Thank you again guys for your suggestions and the information about the keys etc. Again just need like 2 DPS and a tank it sounds like at this point! (Please correct me if I'm wrong on the group composition, I have literally never set foot in plane of sky here or on live.)

I'd check with Clue and Dawn Believers to see which one of the two slots they occupy they will be leaving open.

Sorry, what do you mean? I see the other thread going on about Sky right now, am I not allowed to come in and kill Gwan if people are raiding?

Technically, no.

In reality, if you ask the guild if you can kill Gwan on their night, 9/10 times it'll be a "sure. c'mon up. need a port?"
