I'm probably gong to feel extremely stupid after this question but i'm just lost.

I decided to try an Erudite Necro and I cant for the life of me get out or into the city. I ask the guard for a key to get out, he gives it but when I click on the rock it just keeps telling me I must have a lock pick in my inventory to do it. I'm very confused.

If I kill myself and get a new key in the newbie area same thing. Click the rock for the elevator and get the msg that I must have a lock pick in my inventory. Am I at the wrong place? Please help!

You need to have the key on your cursor when you click the rock.

I think it's pretty safe to say that at this point there are no mistakes you could make in this game, no matter how stupid, that haven't already been made by someone else. In fact, it's probably safe to say there aren't any you can make that haven't already been made by ten somebody elses.

If it makes you feel better, I knew this and it still took me an hour to get into Paineel...

Pro tip: when outside of the elevator, don't fall in the big hole...

I have heard so many times that falling into the hole is certain death, but I have probably fell in around four or five times, and each time I just landed in a pool of water, then gated back out. Have I just been extremely lucky?
