EqZoneViewer on Win 7?

Trying to use this awesome program again to memorize dungeon map layouts etc.

http://eqclassic.de/wiki/EverQuest_Zone_Viewer

Except the last time I used it I was on XP. Now I'm on Windows 7 and it shuts down anytime I try to run it. I've tried to run as admin and all compatibility modes to no avail.

Just wondering if anyone running Windows 7 (or even Windows 10) has been able to get this program running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm on Linux now, but I know I used it on my last Windows machine, which I'm pretty sure was Windows 8. (For the record, I was trying to see if I could use it to make better maps of certain zones for the wiki; not a cheater ;))

I don't remember having to do anything special to make it work (but it was awhile ago so I may have forgotten). I know that doesn't really help much, but at least it means it's (probably) possible on Win 7.

Alternatively, another way to learn zones is to get a rogue to level 20 or so; I understand they can go almost anywhere at that point.

Thanks for that and is the program really known for cheating? I like it because you can fly through zones at god speed and no clip with no mobs to worry about. It's a great way to memorize zones and mob locations etc.

I'll keep trying to mess with it but if anyone else on Windows 7 can try as well would appreciate it!

Since it doesn't interact with the actual game at all it's not (I believe) officially cheating. I just meant that it's using a resource outside the game that lets you get better at the game, so it's sort of cheating in the same sense that reading Nintendo Power or a videogame walkthrough is "cheating".

Here's one that will work on Windows 7/8/8.1/10.

Try a different tool? https://www.dropbox.com/s/1o58884fr1...orter.zip?dl=0

(Might need to download and run vcredist_x86.exe from Microsoft here before you can use that one)
