Classic Items??
 

Hey there, im a prospective old-school EQ/WoW player, me and some friends are really interested in getting into oldschool classic EQ like you guys offer - but we want to be able to get the old items that were removed like Box of Abukar, Manastones, and Guise of the Deciever - are any of those still availible on your server? and if not, do you guys have plans to open/start another new classic progression server?

Are there any other ideas anyone could suggest? Im assuming the sony progression servers do not have these old items either?

Those items no longer drop. Some are tradable so you can farm plat and attempt to buy them however.

Kunark is about to open so there are some opportunites to get some of the pre-nerf items that came out with that expansion like the sk/necro invisibility hat or inventory usable fungi staff.

I can't speak for the devs but as of now they haven't mentioned opening a new server. The current plan is to take this one through velious which could be another couple of years.

Guise is no longer pre-nerf.

Neither of the other two items drop anymore either.

please don't let the idea of a few nerfed items (done to coincide with classic eq progression) keep you away from playing here. The classic experience is so much more than getting pre-nerf items.

truth, aside from a Box of Abu i picked up, I personally don't have a single "pre nerf" classic item and am totally satisfied with my gear/bank.

Seriously. The collective Classic/Kunark/Velious content is so much more awesome than a few pre-nerf items that aren't all that important in reality...

I agree with the others.. It's most certainly worth playing on the servers. I got on just after these items were removed and felt bummed about it as I had great memories of getting them on the old live servers. These items though are a very minor piece of the classic experience which this server gives us all. I'd advise playing for a month or so in order to get a feel for what the server and the great community have to offer. Kunark is about to launch which will be a lot of fun for all. I am sure that in a couple years, they will do a new server launch which will incorporate all of the fixes and tuning which were done over a span of several years on the current server. Welcome!

Well, as the server is based on a timeline, we removed the items that should be removed according to the timeline.

Manastones and boxes of abu`kar are droppable.. so its possible to trade for them. Lotttts of limited time Kunark loots to be obtained though. Mosscovered Twigs, Circlet of Shadow, Gem Encrusted Rings, etc.

Do you guys know whether the sony progression servers have pre-nerf guises? i know the other stuff can be bought, but that item in particular means a lot to me for some silly reason.

Not sure. It will eventually have a casino though right? So you can certainly get one in Luclin.
